terms and conditions

Please make sure you have read through and understand everything on this page before making any booking. Agreeing to the terms means that the Client has permitted Mayonaka Designs to post the commission to their social media or website for portfolio purposes. This Agreement shall be deemed to be accepted by the author from the receipt of the 50% deposit.

PAYMENTS

INITIAL PAYMENT:
A non-refundable deposit of 50% is required within three (3) days of booking for all design services.

FINAL PAYMENT:
The remaining 50% is due upon approval of the final files. Payment must be made within seven (7) days of receiving the invoice. A late fee of €10 per week will apply for delayed payments unless Mayonaka Designs is notified in advance to arrange an extension. Final files will only be released upon receipt of full payment.

RUSH ORDERS:
For rush orders with deadlines within one (1) week, Mayonaka Designs will do its best to accommodate your request. A €50 rush fee will be added to the final invoice.

SOCIAL MEDIA TEASERS:
Orders for social media teaser packages require full payment upfront.

PAYMENT PLANS:
Flexible payment plans are available for clients who wish to use our services but need additional time to manage their budget.

PREMADES

All premade design sales are final. Refunds or exchanges are not permitted. Payment is required upfront, as premade designs are offered on a first-come, first-serve basis and are limited in availability.

REVISIONS:
Minor changes are allowed to premade designs; however, significant modifications may incur additional charges.

DELIVERY:
Premade design proofs will be sent to the client within seven (7) to ten (10) business days of completing the order form, even if the schedule is fully booked.

INTERIOR FORMATTING

Mayonaka Designs provides professional formatting and interior design for your book. Please note that our services do not include editing or proofreading. As such, Mayonaka Designs is not responsible or liable for any grammatical or typographical errors found in your work after publication.

All of our interior formatting packages include a 14-Day Aftercare period for minor edits like grammar or spelling changes. Each package covers up to 100k words, with a €10 fee for every additional 10k words.

TIME FRAME

INITIAL PROOFS:
Mayonaka Designs will send the client one to two proofs at the beginning of the work. If the client is not satisfied with the designs, a new concept will be created.

CHANGES TO PROOFS:
Mayonaka Designs offers up to 4 revisions.

CHANGES AFTER APPROVAL:
Any changes made after final approval will incur an additional fee starting at €20. Costs may vary depending on the number of files or extent of changes needed, such as, but not limited to, book size adjustments, font changes, color alterations, or mixing elements from different proofs.

WORK FLOW

Contact Mayonaka Designs in advance to request a service. A detailed form/creative brief will be provided once communication is initiated.

Clients are encouraged to book well ahead of deadlines, allowing adequate time for project completion. Any necessary changes should be communicated promptly since every change requires more time and scrutiny. We will not take responsibility for any missed deadlines on the client's part.

PRICING

Prices are subject to change at the discretion of Mayonaka Designs.

ALTERATIONS

The final design must not be altered by anyone other than Mayonaka Designs.

ATTRIBUTION

Mayonaka Designs requires the following credit to appear in the client’s book, either on the cover or the copyright page: "Cover Design by Mayonaka Designs" or "Interior Design and Formatting by Mayonaka Designs". For e-books, an optional link to Mayonaka Designs’ website or Instagram page may be included.

CANCELLATION

No charge applies for cancellations made prior to submitting the creative brief form or immediately after submitting it.

If work has already begun on the project, the client agrees to pay 75% of the total project fee. This includes situations where initial concepts, drafts, or design proofs have already been delivered. The 50% deposit paid at booking is non-refundable and will be applied toward this amount. Any remaining balance will be due upon cancellation.

AI USAGE

Mayonaka Designs does not use AI tools for any aspect of the design process. Every effort is made to ensure that all images and elements used in designs are free from AI-generated content.

CODE OF FAIR PRACTICE

Mayonaka Designs ensures that, to the best of their knowledge, all work provided is original and has not been previously published. Necessary permissions for any external resources are obtained on an unlimited-use basis. Designs will not include scandalous, libelous, or unlawful content. Clients must not use Mayonaka Designs’ products in ways that infringe upon the rights of others.

LIABILITY

Mayonaka Designs is not liable for any damages, including loss of revenue, reputation, or data, related to our services.

Once a design is approved, Mayonaka Designs is not responsible for errors in the client’s written documents or claims arising from such errors. In cases of project delays caused by emergencies or acts of nature, Mayonaka Designs will notify the client and agree upon a revised deadline.

ACCEPTING OF TERMS

Both Mayonaka Designs and the client will acknowledge acceptance of these terms. By agreeing to this contract, the client releases Mayonaka Designs from all liabilities, including financial, upon completion of the agreed-upon work.
